The European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM), is the European scientific organization focused on the field of Diving & Hyperbaric Medicine. Last agreement on the recommended indications for HBO Therapy was announced after the 7th ECHM Consensus Conference that took place in Lille, 2004. Evidence-Based Medicine methodology was used that concluded the following categories

• Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning • Crush Syndromes • Prevention of Osteoradionecrosis after Dental Extraction • Osteoradionecrosis (mandible) • Soft Tissue Radionecrosis (cystitis) • Decompression Accidents • Gas Embolism • Anaerobic or Mixed Bacterial Anaerobic Infections[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_column_text]

Recommended - The Jury considers the implementation of the recommendation as positively affecting final outcome of the patient/quality of practice/future specific knowledge:

• Diabetic Foot Lesions • Compromised skin graft and musculocutaneous flap • Osteoradionecrosis (other bones) • Radio-induced proctitis / enteritis • Radio-induced lesions of soft tissues • Surgery and Implant in Irradiated Tissue (preventative action) • Sudden Deafness • Ischemic Ulcers • Refractory Chronic Osteomyelitis • Stage IV Neuroblastoma[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_column_text]
